Free for Life International, in partnership with Peace Rehabilitation Center (P.R.C.) of Kathmandu, Nepal, is pleased to announce the opening of the very first human trafficking border monitoring station on the Tibet border. This station is designed to prevent the buying and selling of young Nepali girls into Tibet. Traffickers continue to lure young women through false promises of a better life, but instead of prosperity what awaits them is a life of sexual slavery. Each year an estimated 1,000 young Nepali women are trafficked out of the country. Free for Life has committed to support this border for the next 3 years
Anti-trafficking experts report an alarming increase in sex trafficking into the border town of Zhangmu, Tibet, which is popular with tourists. Free for Life believes that this groundbreaking border station, located at this crossing, has the potential to prevent and/or rescue hundreds of young girls from a life of slavery.Free for Life and P.R.C. have experienced remarkable success at their existing Krishnanagar monitoring station along the Indo-Nepal border. In the past 15 months at this station, 117 girls have been rescued from a life of sex slavery, and 9 traffickers have been brought to justice.

The continued partnership between Free for Life International and Peace Rehabilitation Center will shine a light into the dark world of sex trafficking, bringing a future and a hope to young woman who have endured unimaginable circumstances.

The cost for this border per year are $25,000

Further efforts through this partnership are being made to address the root causes of trafficking in this region through education and sustainable programs.

The 4th annual Free For Life 5k Run was a huge success the FFLI Chattanooga chapter, Set Free Chattanooga.

The Run was a big success and continues to grow each and every year. This year 100 runners were involved. Big congratulations to the Graham (especially Barbie)  family for all of their hard work. Barbie Graham had a vision to not just have another 5 k run, but to bring awareness to the issue of trafficking and raise money for Free for Life and our work of restoration.  Barbie will be writing an article to share her experiences and now expertise in putting on this run and her heart to make a difference in the lives of young women victimized by slavery. This year as of now $1,700 was raised to go toward supporting our partner shelter in Nicaragua.

The Project:

We took our army of volunteers to assist three wonderful women that have sadly been widowed , and also be able to cover the cost of meeting the needs of each girl we are so blessed to help that has been victimized by sex slavery. Our goal for this project is $20,000. YOU CAN STILL BE A PART OF THIS PROJECT. This amount of money can provide total support for one of our partner shelters for 8 months or support our border monitoring station for one year. You will help these precious girls by continuing to provide the love, support and protection they desperately need.  Through your support girls will receive assistance, traffickers will be apprehended, and scholarships will continue to be given.

So how can you help. The answer is simple and straightforward. We are not all called to work with victims or to run a shelter, but we can all play a role in serving the widow and caring for those abandoned and abused.

We are reminded of the passage in Matthew 25:40 (MSG) where Jesus speaks of extending help to others.  “Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.”  Your involvement will ensure those that have no voice will not be overlooked or ignored.

A hero is just an ordinary person willing to take action… Anyone young, old, or anywhere in between can start an FFLI Chapter.  Anyone who has a desire to come along side FFLI to make a difference in the lives of girls victimized by sexual slavery throughout the world!  We are looking for leaders who will actively seek opportunities to raise awareness and funds for FFLI through community and/or church relationships and fundraisers.
